Plan to Park in the Rooftop Parking Garage located at 150 N McLean, starting at 12:30 PM. Launching will start at 1:00 PM. Stay in the River until 5:30 PM.

Rent a tube and life jacket or bring your own and float the Arkansas River. Cost to float when bringing your own tube is $15. If you'd like to use one of ours, the cost is additional $10. No need to air up your floatie prior to arrival. We will have air compressors. Take in sights, like the Keeper of the Plains, from a completely new and exciting vantage point - on the river!

The take-out point is located at the WSU River Vista Boathouse Dock. The float stops here but the fun doesn't have to - enjoy music, kids' activities and more until 5:30 PM. When you're ready, your car is located at the parking garage adjacent to Boats and Bikes or take the rest of the day and enjoy the many fun places at Delano.

Please Note Venue Change: Due to the ongoing drought, River levels are not conducive to putting in at Cowtown. More details to follow, but tentative plans are to get in and out at River Vista Boats and Bikes. You can float around, float up to the Keeper and Exploration Place, hang out, Depending on weather we may offer another location to get out. Watch this site for more details.
The Big Float is a river float and beach party on the Arkansas River in downtown Wichita. The goal of the Big Float is to build support for improving river access and creating a river habitat for Wichitans. Because this is a fundraiser to fund our River's water quality improvements and education opportunities, refunds are not available. The event will be rescheduled in the event of uncooperative weather.
The event includes music, games, fun in the sun activities, and more.
All ages are welcome and life jackets are required. Kids under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
