Plan to Park in the Rooftop Parking Garage located at 150 N McLean, starting at 12:30 PM. Take a complimentary shuttle to Check-in at the Wichita Clean Streams tent located east of Old Cowtown, near the put-in location. Launching will start at 1:o0 PM with the last launch scheduled for 3:00 PM Buses will only run from 12:30 to 2 PM.

Rent a tube and life jacket or bring your own and float the Arkansas River. No need to air up your floatie prior to arrival. We will have air compressors. Take in sights, like the Keeper of the Plains, from a completely new and exciting vantage point - on the river!

The take-out point is located at the WSU River Vista Boathouse Dock. The float stops here but the fun doesn't have to - enjoy music, kids' activities and more until 6 PM. When you're ready, your car is located at the parking garage adjacent to Boats and Bikes or take the rest of the day and enjoy the many fun places at Delano.

Please Note Start time Change: Due to scheduling conflicts, we had to move the event up by 30 minutes. Still plenty of time for fun in the sun! Buses will pick you up at River Vista starting at 12:30, and take you to the launch site. No need to air up your floatie . We will have air compressors available at the launch site. Last Bus Pick-up at River Vista will be 2 PM. You can still launch until 3 PM, but you will need to find other means of transportation. We will do what we can to accommodate you if you arrive after 2PM, but no guaranteed transportation after 2.
The Big Float is a river float and beach party on the Arkansas River in downtown Wichita. The goal of the Big Float is to build support for improving river access and creating a river habitat for Wichitans. Because this is a fundraiser to fund our River's water quality improvements and education opportunities, refunds are not available. The event will be rescheduled in the event of uncooperative weather.
The event includes music, games, fun in the sun activities, and more.
All ages are welcome and life jackets are required. Kids under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
